Your Ultimate Party Checklist

Welcome to Jump Around!

We are so excited to have you here!

At Jump Around, our goal is to help ease the stress of planning an event by providing entertainment and resources to make yours a party to remember!

As moms to a crew of boys, this means we understand how busy you are, as well as how overwhelming it can be to plan ALL the things. So we have created this handy checklist to simply the planning process for you!

First things first…

This step you want to begin planning out about 3-4 months in advance. Here is where you do all your pre-planning, research, booking and planning your guest list!

Pre-planning:

  1. Set the date and location

  2. Decide on a start and end time

  3. Create a budget (this can very easily get blown out of the water if you aren't careful!)

  4. Choose a party theme!

  5. Come up with a list of ideas for entertainment

  6. Decide on a dress code (or at least what you or the special attendee will wear!)

Who’s coming?

  1. Make your guest list

  2. Purchase invitations and prep them (don't forget to include an RSVP by date!)

  3. Send your invites out 6-8 weeks in advance!

  4. Follow up with anyone who has not RSVP'd (1-2 weeks before event)

Get to booking!

  1. Choose a caterer and order food

  2. Order your cake and/ or desserts

  3. Rent tables, chairs, linens, tent

  4. Book the entertainment (that's us!)

  5. Book/reserve additional vendors

  6. Remember to confirm with all vendors 1 week prior to your event

3-4 weeks in advance…

Your event is quickly approaching! Eeek!

Now is the time to plan your menu and shopping list. You can also start purchasing non-perishable items at this point! We highly recommend doing this because there is nothing worse than shopping the day before only to discover that no store within a 25 mile radius has what you need!

This is also the time to pre-order items such as balloons, banners, centerpieces and party favors!

  1. Create your menu/plan with caterer

  2. Make your shopping list

  3. Purchase non-perishable items in advance

  4. Purchase perishabel items 1-2 days before your event

  5. Party favors (or instead, make a donation to a charity of choice in lieu of favors)

  6. Decor:
    • Balloons (pre-order)
    • Banners (pre-order)
    • Center pieces (pre-order)
    • Flowers (pre-order)

  7. Tableware:
    • Plates (app, main, dessert)
    • Cutlery
    • Napkins
    • Serveware
    • Linens

  8. Thank you cards

It’s almost time to party!

It’s the week of your event, and trust us, you don’t want to leave these items for last minute! You’ll end up stressing yourself out and half-a**ing things (we may or may not be speaking from personal experience here).

  1. Create a Spotify playlist

  2. Finish up any DIY decor items

  3. Take out cash to tip vendors (we recommend dividing them into envelopes and labeling them to simplify things for the day of!)

  4. Prep any party food that can be made 1-2 days in advance

  5. Put up any decor that won’t be destroyed by a toddler the day before

It’s party time!

HECK YES! It’s time to party!

You’ll want to wake up early today to give yourself plenty of time to accomplish any last minute pick ups, cooking, and decorating, while still leaving plenty of time to get yourself (and/or the guest of honor) ready for the big day!
